1. KANAB, UTAH


Kanab is a city in and the county seat of Kane County, Utah, United States. It is located on Kanab Creek just north of the Arizona state line. Kanab, Utah.

The city of Kanab, county seat of Kane County, is often called “Little Hollywood” because of its film-making history over the years. This town of 4,300 sits at the hub of the southwest’s national parks and offers exciting vacation opportunities year-round.

Kanab features slot canyons, off-roading adventures, hoodoos, caves, tunnels, and more. It also is a quick drive from Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, the famous Wave hike, Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, and Zion National Park.

2. GARDEN OF THE GOD, COLORADO

Garden of the Gods is a public park located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. 862 acres of the park was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971. It has land with unique rock structures and spires that are beautiful to see. The owner put a stipulation on the land that a fee never be charged to enjoy the area. As a result, this is a free place to visit.

The famous Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is the ninth best attraction worldwide and second-best attraction in the U.S., according to TripAdvisor’s 2022 awards released.

3. PAGE, ARIZONA


Page is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell.  

Page is known for being a most excellent base camp for exploring nearby outdoor attractions, including Lake Powell and the surrounding Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and Monument Valley.

Some of the most famous films shot in our town include “Planet of the Apes,” “Gravity,” “The Lone Ranger,” and “The Greatest Showman.” 

4. VALLEY OF FIRE STATE PARK, NEVADA


Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering nearly 46,000 acres located 16 miles south of Overton, Nevada. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. The Valley of Fire is one of the best outdoor destinations near Las Vegas. The landscapes are gorgeous here, with red and pink zebra painted rock formations, slot canyons, and unique vistas. It’s fun to drive through, the hikes are short and sweet, and this is a great place to visit for all ages.

5.OHIOPYLE, PENNSYLVANIA

The name Ohiopyle or “Ohiopehelle” is believed to be derived from a combination of Native American Indian words which mean “white, frothy water.”

Ohiopyle Falls is in Ohiopyle State Park. This is a large park, but the falls are right in the center of it and hard to miss. This is a low, wide waterfall on the powerful Youghiogheny River (known as the “Yawk”). You can enjoy the waterfall in medium water levels.

6. FLY GEYSER, NEVADA

Fly Geyser, also known as Fly Ranch Geyser, is a small geothermal geyser located on private land in Washoe County, Nevada, about 20 miles (32 km) north of Gerlach. There are two geysers on the Fly Ranch property. The first was created nearly 100 years ago as part of an effort to make a part of the desert usable for farming. A well was drilled, and geothermal boiling water (200 degrees) was hit.

Due to its otherworldly look, this one is a must see for all visiting Nevada.

7. MENDENHALL GLACIER, ALASKA

The Mendenhall Glacier is a glacier in Alaska that’s part of the Tongass National Forest. The glacier is about 13.6 miles long and has an elevation of 1,580 meters.

The Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center is open from 10 AM–6 PM, Sunday–Saturday, from May–September. In the winter, it’s open from 10 AM–4 PM, Thursday–Sunday, and is closed on federal holidays.

8. DEVILS TOWER

A sacred place to over 20 Native American tribes, the Tower is also known as Bear Lodge. Devils Tower was designated as America’s first national monument in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt.

Devil’s Tower was not a volcano, but was injected between sedimentary rock layers and cooled underground.It is a good place for winter camps, vision quests, and summer ceremonies. 

9. GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, OHIO

Geneva-on-the-Lake is a village in northwestern Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States, along the southern shore of Lake Erie.

10. AUSABLE CHASM, NEW YORK

Ausable Chasm is a sandstone gorge and a beautiful tourist attraction located near the hamlet of Keeseville, New York, United States. The chasm is amazing to see. It is very interesting how it drops off so far in such a short span of the river. Remember the whole place is privately owned so you have to buy a ticket to do the boat float, or the zip line, or the tour, otherwise you are limited to seeing from the highway bridge.
